I pledge to become an ally of anti-racism in schools. I hope that I can help to support my fellow classmates who have experienced, or are still experiencing, microaggression and blatant racism in schools. The worst feeling is when the racist teacher/student is unaware of their xenophobic actions and claim to be ‘fair’ and that we should learn from them as they are in positions of authority. I believe that tackling institutionalised racism is achieved through the masses, and holding racist persons truly accountable and make them aware of their wrongdoings. No student should ever be disadvantaged, especially for their rich cultural history and non-Caucasian appearances. Tackling all racism starts at the foundations of education and I hope to support RacismNoWay in any way.
