Racism. No Way! is a national anti-racism education website that is managed by the NSW Department of Education on behalf of all Australian schools. The content aims to assist teachers to deliver anti-racism education within the school environment. The information and resources provided on this site aim to build teachers’ understanding of racism and its impact on student learning and wellbeing, assist teachers to build students’ understanding of racism and related concepts, and support schools to develop and maintain culturally safe, respectful and inclusive learning and working environments, where racism is actively challenged and addressed.
Building understanding about the history and impact of racism as well as diverse perspectives and world views is vital for creating positive relationships between people from different backgrounds and in creating a just, cohesive and harmonious society. Schools play a critical role in developing this knowledge and in preparing young people to become fair minded and active citizens who are able to participate effectively in contemporary Australian society.
